Stuffe & Nonsense carry a variety of Egyptian-style figurines, boxes and other decorative objects. They're mostly resin castings, and usually models of antique originals. Most of the figurines are also brightly painted just as the Egyptian originals were painted when they were new. The bare stone and aged patina that we appreciate on antiquities was not at all what the people of the time wanted -- they wanted colors! The tombs and temples were painted using mineral pigments that change little over time, so a well-restored tomb like that of Seti I or Nefertari is a very brightly decorated space. Ancient temples and statues were subject to more weathering and seldom have more than hints of color left now.
