Figurine shows the Egyptian god Anubis as a jackal reclining on a shrine. Small wooden boxes of this design were common funerary items; a large example was found in the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. This figure is gold-plated pewter, 3 inches tall and 3 inches long. The lid of the box is separate, covering a small storage space in the shrine base.
