Winged Cobra Scented Oil Warmer

This infuser is designed to warm a scented oil in the shallow glass dish. A candle in the base warms the oil and releases its scent to a room. The holder includes a glass container for a standard tea candle, as well as the glass warming dish. The cobra is made of cold-cast resin.

Winged cobras appear in Egyptian tomb paintings as symbols of protection. The goddess Renenut or Renenutet could be represented as a winged cobra with the solar disk. Renenut was a versatile goddess whose reponsibilities included establishing a person's true name, protecting and nourishing Pharaoh, and protecting the harvest. The goddess Wadjet, patron of Lower Egypt, could also be represented as a winged cobra, usually wearing the white crown of Lower Egypt.
