We do not know who or what the Sphinx represents, nor even what it was called originally. The name "sphinx" is Greek and came into use very late, by Egyptian standards. In the New Kingdom, when the sphinx was already at least 1,000 years old, the ancient Egyptians called it Horemakhet ("Horus in the Horizon") or Shesep ankh ("Living image" of Atum).
Stuffe & Nonsense Egyptian figurines and collectibles are modern manufactured decorative objects, made in the style of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
