Hathor and Chief Scribe Psammetik

Psammetik was a chief scribe during the 26th (Saite) Dynasty. Here he walks in the protection of the goddess Hathor. The original is sculpted of schist, 38 inches tall, now in the Cairo Museum. It was found in Saqqara in 1863 but took until 1907 to make its way to the Cairo Museum. This painted cold-cast resin figurine is 3.5 inches tall, 3 inches long.

Hathor is identifiable by her headdress with solar disk, two feather plumes and a uraeus between her horns.

Stuffe & Nonsense Egyptian figurines and collectibles are modern manufactured decorative objects, made in the style of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
