Ramesses III Statue

Colorful statue of Pharaoh Ramesses III is based on colossal statues from his mortuary temple of Medinet Habu. The king's plump uh, "robust" figure was probably intended to emphasize his wealth. Painted cold-cast resin figurine is 10.5 inches tall.

Usermaatre Meryamun Ramesses Hekaiunu was the 2nd pharaoh of the 20th Dynasty, and the last great pharaoh of the New Kingdom. Ramesses III took much of his name to borrow glory from his famous predecessor Ramesses II (Usermaatre Setepenre Ramesses Meryamun) of 100 years earlier. But the wealth and power of the Egyptian empire was fading in the early 20th Dynasty, and Ramesses III was succeeded by a string of "Ramesside" pharaohs who shared an illustrious name and ruled a kingdom of dimishing size, wealth and stability.

Stuffe & Nonsense Egyptian figurines and collectibles are modern manufactured decorative objects, made in the style of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
