Thutmose III ruled for almost 50 years during the 19th Dynasty, and built the Egyptian Empire to its greatest extent. Scarabs with his name on them became tremendously popular and appear for hundreds of years after his death. Hieroglyphs around the base of this scarab show his praenomen Men-Kheper-Re ("Lasting is the Manifestation of Re") and his nomen Thutmose Nefer-Kheperu ("Thoth is born, beautiful of forms").
