Nut Vulture Candle Holder

Decorative candle holder has the Egyptian goddess Nut as a vulture displayed holding two shem symbols. This image is copied from a pectoral found in Pharaoh Tutankhamun's tomb. The goddess Nekhbet is often shown in this pose as a standard symbol of protection, but this time the protective goddess is Nut. Her name is in the hieroglyphs just above the vulture's back: Nw-t. The cartouches above the vulture's wings show Tutankhamun's praenomen Neb-kheperu-re and his nomen Tut-ankh-amun.

The holder includes a glass container for a standard tea candle. The candle screen is a painted cold-cast resin, 3.5 inches tall.

Stuffe & Nonsense Egyptian figurines and collectibles are modern manufactured decorative objects, made in the style of ancient Egyptian artifacts.
