The scarab on this box is copied from the "name pendant" found with the mummy of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. It forms a rebus of his throne name Neb-Kheperu-Re: the sun disk is Re, the scarab is kheper, three bars below make it a plural kheperu, and the blue bowl-shaped form at the base of the pendant is a neb. Neb-Kheperu-Re translates as "Re is the Lord of Resurrection".
